1st Printing: February 22, 1984 – 30,000 copies
At least three printings issued.
Due to advance orders exceeding expectation, Houghton Mifflin had 30,000 copies printed domestically to add to their previously imported 4,000. These two printings were published simultaneously but several errors were corrected in the latter 30,000.
The ‘Domestic’ Edition can be distinguished from the ‘Import’ Edition by differences on the copyright page (“Printed in the United States of America” vs. “Printed in Great Britain”), title page (no year present vs. present), and the placement of the illustration, ‘I Vene Kemen’ (printed on an integral leaf, page 12 vs. printed on a plate facing page i). Their dust-jackets are identical.
