Notes
Typeset as for the HarperCollins 2018 First Edition.
The Fall of Gondolin, centered around events that culminate with the end of the First Age of Middle-earth, brings together several existing passages of work into one volume. Commentary is given by Christopher Tolkien who uses the same ‘history in sequence’ mode as in the preceding Beren and Lúthien.
At least three printings issued and is available new.
Also issued by the Science Fiction Book Club (August 30, 2018). This can be distinguished from the trade edition by the lack of a price on the dust-jacket’s front flap, the lack of a number line on the copyright page and the presence of the Science Fiction Book Club number (1420452) on the dust-jacket’s back cover.
Jacket price: $30.00. SFBC Edtion: $23.99.
