This edition differs from the 1980 First Edition (as well as its corresponding Book Club Edition) and can be distinguished by the following features: lack of price and ‘Book Club Edition‘ stated on the dust-jacket’s front flap, minor changes to the jacket’s back cover and flap and the book itself is bound in tan paper over boards with a brown cloth spine as opposed to the yellow-green cloth of the trade edition. Also the Science Fiction Book Club number (5671, later 05671) is stated on the lower right-hand corner of the jacket’s back cover.
RRP: $5.98 in 1983, possibly earlier; $6.50 (Fall 1984). Also sold together (SFBC# 53967) with The Silmarillion for $11.50; $11.98 (Fall 1984).
